How much does air conditioning cost to install?
A single-room wall-mounted system starts from £1,595 fitted, and multi-room systems start from £2,995. The final price depends on the size of the unit, the length of the pipe run and access to the outside wall. We confirm a fixed price after your free survey.
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning?
Usually not for a house in England. Since May 2025, air-to-air systems count as permitted development, within limits on the size of the outdoor unit and the noise it makes. Flats, listed buildings and some conservation areas need extra checks, and we cover these at your survey.
How long does installation take?
Most single-room systems are fitted in a day. Multi-room systems usually take two to three days, depending on the number of rooms and the pipe routes.
Can air conditioning heat my home as well?
Yes. Modern split systems are air-to-air heat pumps, so the same unit warms the room in winter and uses far less electricity than a plug-in electric heater for the same heat.
How noisy is air conditioning?
Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric indoor units are designed to be quiet enough for bedrooms on their lowest setting. We position the outdoor unit to keep noise away from you and your neighbours.
How often should air conditioning be serviced?
Once a year. Annual servicing keeps the system running efficiently, catches small faults early and is usually a condition of the manufacturer warranty.
